How it all started...
WomEn-Aklan was conceived out of the inspiration of the founding president, MRS. ROSE F. NEPOMUCENO during her travel to the United States of America. She was one of the 5 participants chosen and invited by the United States Department of State through the United States Embassy in Manila ,Cultural Affairs Office to participate in their International Visitors Leadership Program on “Women and Entrepreneurship” from August 4-22, 2008. The program involved a tour to the various cities like Washington D.C.; New York, New York; Albany, New York; Huntsville, Alabama; Kansas, Missouri and San Diego, California, to name a few. In every city, participants interacted with the various women’s group and trade organizations, the academe, financial institutions and government agencies that support even thriving entrepreneurs from small and medium businesses around the globe.
